Six students from Junaluska Elementary School were honored with a selection to perform in the state-wide auditioned Elementary Honor Chorus. These students were selected from over 500 other students to be in a choir of about 180 of the finest elementary singers in the state. The honor allowed them the opportunity to work with Emily Ellsworth, who is nationally recognized in the field of youth chorus directors. They sang with Ms. Ellsworth in a performance for the state music teachers annual conference at the Stevens Center in Winston-Salem on Sunday, November 13th. Junaluska was 1 of only 2 schools in the state to have 6 students chosen for this honor. The music teacher for these students is Mrs. Paula Nichols.
