We at North Canton Elementary School would like to take a minute and brag on our students, parents, and faculty for all of their hard work during EOG testing. We know this is a very stressful time for all who are involved with it. The teachers and staff held a “test pep rally” prior to the EOG’s in order to get kids pumped up about testing. The younger students in the school lined the halls with posters, and cheered the third through fifth graders on. This was a great encouragement to our students to see that the entire school was rallying around them. Teachers came together and got the students involved in a song, called “What does the Test Say,” which is a parody of the song, “What Does the Fox Say.” Then, our lively and energetic principal, Mr. Barbee, made a grand entrance acting as “Mr. Smarty”, and danced and acted out a song “I’m a Smarty and I Know it,” which of course got the student s energized and excited. Fifth grade teacher Will Hicks was an outstanding MC!  Mr. Barbee gave a motivating speech to all of the students reminding them of how smart and capable they are. When the testing days rolled around we were pleased and so excited when we learned that we had perfect attendance for every testing day. This allowed NCE to finish ALL testing in just 3 days. We are very proud of every student for wanting to come to school and of our NCE parents for realizing the importance of those three days and ensuring that their children were to school prepared and on time! Good job NCE!
