On October 21, Central Elementary School held their “BOOK-TOBER FEST.”   This Fall Reading Celebration provided many opportunities for both students and parents.  Administration and Reading Specialists held an informative session highlighting the NC Read to Achieve Law and annual Title I updates.  Students and parents visited the classrooms for a “Curriculum Connection.”  Teachers were able to share current events and activities to help parents connect  with the curriculum at home.  Other events on the campus during the event included spooky and thrilling Science experiments integrated with Math & Reading,  engaging computer activities, and magical story telling events in the media center.  Students who attended the curriculum night were able to end the evening in the Media Center, choosing a FREE book.   After all the fun activities, Dinner on a Dollar was served in the cafeteria.  The focus of the “BOOK-TOBER FEST” was to continue encouraging every child to READ and allow parents the opportunity to see exciting ways to continue the encouragement at home.
