The Haywood Broadband Initiative is conducting a survey to determine the availability of Internet Broadband service in the county. Since home access to broadband service could assistant students with some homework assignments and other educational activities, the school district is encouraging students, staff and parents to participate in the survey. The Haywood Broadband Initiative is a collaborative project involving local government, the Haywood County Economic Development Council, the NC Department of Commerce and various representatives from broadband and cable companies. The survey is designed to assess the community’s broadband needs, to identify unserved or underserved businesses and residences and to create a map of potential demand and service assets. The ultimate goal is to attract service providers offering expanded service and higher speed options. Your participation is essential.
