Today, March 20, 2015, there was a domestic situation involving law enforcement in the Canton community. We were notified by law enforcement about this situation and kept children at North Canton Elementary inside during this time.

At approximately 1:10 pm, school officials were notified that the situation in the community was resolved by law enforcement and the school returned to its normal schedule. School dismissal and after school activities will operate on a normal schedule.

“We are very thankful that this matter did not create a safety matter for our schools and that all students and staff were safe” said Dr. Anne Garrett, Superintendent. “We sent a voice message to parents at North Canton Elementary School and also followed up with a letter.”

“We have great communication and a strong working relationship with local law enforcement,” said Dr. Bill Nolte, Associate Superintendent. “We appreciate everything they do to help us keep our schools safe and secure.”
