Waynesville Middle School has implemented a minimum lockdown for precautionary purposes. A vague and non-specific written threat was discovered on campus. After conferring with local law enforcement, school administrators implemented a minimum lockdown to follow up on investigative leads in a secure setting.

At this time there is no apparent danger to students, staff or property.

Additional information will follow as the investigation proceeds.

“This was not a specific threat and does not appear to be legitimate,” said Bill Nolte associate superintendent. “However, we like to error of the side of safety and security. That is why we followed up with law enforcement and are working to check out initial leads.”
