Every morning at North Canton, students and staff gather in the gym. They celebrate our national heritage by doing the Pledge of Allegiance and signing a patriotic song.  Mrs. Trantham wishes the children a good morning, celebrates birthdays, and gives daily announcements. Friday mornings, however, are “Fun Fridays.” They play a different popular song, usually picked by the students, such as “Watch Me” (Whip and Nae Nae), and “Happy.” Every month, every classroom receives a new book from Mrs. Trantham. The week before the book is revealed, Mrs. Trantham gives the students daily clues. The students enjoy trying to figure out the title of the book before the class receives it.

Welcome to Zaxby’s! Students enjoy watching the staff at North Canton take their orders, serve food, fix milkshakes, and clean tables. Every 9 weeks, staff members at North Canton work at the Zaxby’s on Russ Avenue in Waynesville as a PTA fundraiser. It is a fun event for all who are involved. PTA earns 10% of the profits from 5pm until closing. NCE staff members work from 5-7, and then enjoy dinner together.
