New kindergarten parents were given a short reprieve last week after dropping off their children with their new teachers.  Bethel Elementary School’s PTO provided refreshments and a place to gather and network with other kindergarten parents for a bit.  It can be hard to leave those little ones even when you know it’s best for them.  Bethel’s PTO wanted to create a welcoming atmosphere among the new parents and those returning parents as well.  Parents seemed more at ease after a danish and juice with friends.   Kindergarten students entered school over the course of two days, allowing time for half of the class to learn their way around and make new friends each on Thursday and Friday of last week, before the entire class came together on Monday.  Transitioning to kindergarten can be difficult on students and parents and Bethel Elementary PTO’s goal was to ease that transition.
