Thanks to the diligence, hard work, and resourcefulness of Agriculture Education teacher Mr. Barry Feldman, it has been an exciting year for CHHS agriculture and natural resources students. However, Mr. Feldman is quick to point out that none of the program’s improvements would have been possible without the incredible outpouring of community support.
CHHS agriculture students have implemented a riparian / wetlands area, purchased mobile weather stations to monitor changing conditions, and created several specialized raised bed gardens. In addition, they have sought resources to acquire more garden tools and are looking forward to having a tractor with implements next school year. All these improvements will allow more students to participate in hands-on learning and will directly tie into the state natural resources curricula. Mr. Feldman is hoping to encourage more students to consider careers in horticulture and ag science.
