Where could you see and learn about famous North Carolinians such as George Vanderbilt, Ava Gardner, and the Reverend Billy Graham? At Riverbend Elementary, of course!  Students from Mrs. Bigsby’s and Mrs. Scapin’s 4th grade class presented their research during the annual Notable North Carolinians Living Museum. Parents, teachers, and students had the opportunity to learn about people from the world of sports, business, music, entertainment and science. Each fourth grader “became” the person they had researched by delivering a five-minute speech that they had written, as well as using costumes, props, a slideshow to really make the presentation engaging and entertaining. The response from the “visitors” to the Museum was overwhelming. This is one of the highlights of the year for Riverbend’s fourth graders.
