Precipitation and cooler temperatures are expected to impact the weather in Western North Carolina on Thursday, February 20, 2020.  We expect the heaviest precipitation to occur south of Haywood County.  A slight chance of snow begins for some areas of Haywood County around 5 a.m. on Friday morning.  Snow becomes likely for many areas by 10 a.m.  High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-30s limiting accumulation in warmer areas.  If the weather develops as expected, precipitation and below freezing temperatures will likely cause slick road conditions during school hours.

Members of our Morning Crew will be out early on Thursday.  Everyone should get a good night’s sleep and be ready for school on Thursday.   If a school schedule change becomes necessary, we will use the normal announcement channels.
