You should have been there!  On May 15, 2014, the gymnasium of Riverbend Elementary School was transformed into a museum by Mrs. Bigsby’s fourth grade students as part of a Big Six Research project.  Students researched the life of a famous North Carolinian, wrote a first-person narrative from that person’s point-of-view, and then “brought that person to life” in a living museum format.  Students dressed in costume, decorated tables with props, and delivered a four-minute presentation. The gymnasium came to life with notable figures from the world of music, history, sports, and the arts.  Parents and students who visited the museum were impressed with the high quality of the presentations.  “Ava Gardner” was overheard to have said she really enjoyed the opportunity to present her life to the second, third, and fourth graders and that it was the best performance of her career!
