Haywood County Schools is an exciting place where educational excellence is more than a goal; it is our standard. We are committed to creating opportunities for all student to do their best and to succeed. We have high expectations for students and employees, and continually work on open communication, sound fiscal management, and strong family and community involvement.
A few of our accomplishments:
Presently in student performance, we are in the top 8% of schools in North Carolina. We were honored in the Fall of 2011 as having a National Blue Ribbon School. Our SAT places us in the top 5%. The alternative school is ranked number one in North Carolina. One of our elementary schools is number 2 of the 816 Title I schools in North Carolina. Four of our elementary schools are in the top 6% of the state. The Early College is first in the region. We have four Schools of Excellence. Last year’s graduates were eligible to receive over nine million dollars in scholarships. Our girls won the state softball championship, and the high school band has won two grand championships. We are proud of our staff and students for their continued commitment to excellence in all areas.
