A number of local veterans attended the Veteran’s Day Assembly at Waynesville Middle School on Friday, November 7. The entire student body and faculty attended the assembly, along with parents, grandparents and community members. The chorus and band performed several patriotic songs, and each branch of the military was honored separately. Students from the We the People program officiated the assembly. The crowd went silent as students Matthew Wyant and Clay Payne played taps.This is a very special annual event for all members of the WMS and the veterans who attended. Mr. Putnam, the faculty, and students were highly honored to have so many veterans visit the campus for the assembly.
