PHS chromebooks

The Counseling Center of Pisgah High School wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Kiwanis Club of Waynesville for a $2000 grant. The grant application stipulates that all monies must be for projects that provide a long term benefit directly to students. The counselors were able to purchase seven Chromebooks that students are already using for online college applications, online employment applications, online registration for ACT and SAT testing (tests colleges use when making admissions and scholarship decisions), scholarship searches and scholarship applications, and completing online college athletic eligibility registration. Many students do not have access to computers at home; others have no internet or unreliable internet access. Some students like to look at online applications at school with a counselor before tackling them on their own, while others have questions or need assistance from a counselor after they have started. The Kiwanis grant has made all of these online resources more accessible to ALL students, and the counselors feel that students already feel more at ease asking for assistance with online applications: Thanks so much to the Kiwanis Club of Waynesville for their generous gift to Pisgah High School Counseling Center!
