College Signing Day 2016

Staff and students join high school seniors in showing their college pride on Haywood County’s College Signing Day. This is the second year HCS has observed this day. Signing events will occur today for all college bound students at all high schools.

This national tradition is supported by President and First Lady Obama as a way to celebrate students going to college. The First Lady said, “If we want to truly lead the world in terms of young people with a college degree, we should celebrate students going to college the same way we celebrate athletes and celebrities. Education should be that important for every single person in this country.”

Central Office staff challenged each floor to wear a college t-shirt and the result was 100% participation!  Staff will then attend College Signing Day events at high schools across the district. Haywood County Schools wants every student from kindergarten through high school to have the vision that college is an option!
