BioGen

Junaluska Elementary hosted a BioGen Science Night on Tuesday, March 17, 2016. This was an official event of the 2016 North Carolina Science Festival.

This evening featured hands-on activities focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Activities were designed to engage children and their families in science exploration. Students and teachers from Tuscola High School assisted with this event.

Junaluska Elementary School was one of 125 North Carolina elementary schools selected to host BioGen Science Nights this year. The educational program is an initiative of the North Carolina Science Festival and serves its mission to inspire future generations of scientists.

The North Carolina Science Festival is a two-week statewide series of events showcasing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), presented annually. It includes hands-on activities, science talks, lab tours, nature experiences, exhibits, performances and other events, hosted by many different organizations within North Carolina. The Festival is produced by Morehead Planetarium and Science Center (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill).
