Hazelwood Elementary School partnered with the American Red Cross recently to host a Blood Drive at our school.  Hazelwood connects with the Haywood County community twice a year to help the American Red Cross collect blood to help save the lives of people all across the United States.  Our goal was to collect 37 pints and we achieved that goal and went over by 3 pints. Being a Leader in Me School, Hazelwood students use our 7 Habits to help achieve the goal.  They “Begin with the end in mind” (Habit #3) and “Put first things first” (Habit #2) by gathering participants to donate blood. Pictured are those students who helped get donors to our school for the Blood Drive.  They received a certificate and a t-shirt from the American Red Cross. Our students appreciate the opportunity to give back to our community and to influence the lives of people all over our country.
