This year’s winter weather has been unusually warm and wet with just enough cold to create dangerous road conditions on a few mornings.  That pattern seems to be continuing with abundant rain and some flooding today.

In the early morning hours of Friday, February 7, 2020, we expect cold air to move into the county and produce sub-freezing temperatures beginning on the western edge and moving across the county.  Temperatures should remain at or below freezing across much of the county throughout the day on Friday.  In many areas, water from the rain is likely to freeze on roadways.  Dropping temperatures will likely produce snow and mixed precipitation in many areas.

We will be monitoring our ever-changing mountain weather.  Please get a good night’s sleep and prepare for school on Friday.  If the weather develops as expected, we will make an appropriate announcement early tomorrow morning.  If in doubt, please check multiple sources (HCS website, HCS social media, media outlets, and rapid notification messaging).
