Due to the regulatory restrictions available through the state link (https://files.nc.gov/ncdhhs/documents/files/covid-19/NC-Interim-Guidance-for-Day-Camp-Settings.pdf.) as well as limitations on available, credentialed employees, limited school-based summer child care will be available.  At this point, these limited opportunities will be available beginning Monday, June 8, 2020 at six elementary school locations.  Other locations may open later.  Initially opened sites will hopefully be able to expand slots as we work to fulfill the new regulations and as additional credentialed employees become available.

The elementary schools are currently working on re-opening applications required by the state.  The schools are also working to conduct revised COVID19 training for summer camp employees, updating enrollment applications for students, and working on credentialing potential new employees.  Hiring and credentialing new employees for summer care has the additional limitation of the availability and turnaround time of finger printing.

Participating elementary schools will announce details for their locations in the coming days.  Announcements will be made through the normal school site channels.  Priority will be given to students enrolled at open sites whose parents are actively working.  If you have not seen an announcement from your child’s assigned school by Memorial Day, please feel free to reach out to the school for information.

Again, thanks for your support and patience as we work to support our students, staff, parents, and community in these most unusual times.  Be safe, be smart, be calm, and be kind.
