During the regular Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 4, 2022, the Board voted to approve a recommendation from the Superintendent to adjust the end-of-year calendar
to add a Mandatory Workday at the end of the school year. The last student day for 2021-22 is now Thursday, June 2. Friday, June 3 is a Mandatory Workday. Monday, June 6 is still
an Annual Leave Day.

The Mandatory Workday in the original calendar was used to address excessive missed days. This was primarily attributed to three workdays that were used in conjunction with
flooding associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred in August. “We received requests from teachers expressing the need for a Mandatory Workday in order to take care
of end-of-year records and transition quickly to summer programing at several schools,” said Dr. Bill Nolte, Superintendent. “We appreciate our teachers and believe this is a
reasonable request.”

Again, the last student day for 2021-22 is now Thursday, June 2. Friday, June 3 is a Mandatory Workday for employees. Monday, June 6 is still an Annual Leave Day.
