Six new administrators were named and recognized at the July School Board Meeting. The new administrators are pictured with Dr. Putnam, Mr. Haynes, and Mrs. Barker.

The Haywood County Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce several administrative appointments and leadership changes, approved at the July 15 Board of Education meeting. These changes reflect the district’s ongoing commitment to student-focused leadership and academic excellence.

The following individuals will serve in new administrative roles for the 2025–2026 school year:

  • Karley Wells will serve as Elementary Supervisor for Haywood County Schools.
  • Jacob Shelton will serve as Principal of Clyde Elementary School.
  • Stephanie Benson will serve as Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE).
  • Leslie Buchanan will serve as Principal of Meadowbrook Elementary School.
  • Marydith Parker will serve as Assistant Principal at Clyde Elementary School.
  • Kiffin Queen will serve as Assistant Principal at Clyde Elementary School.
  • Austin Sluder will serve as Assistant Principal at Waynesville Middle School.
