BES Third Graders visit Silver Bluff to sing Christmas carols and deliver gifts

Riverbend First Graders say Thank You!
Mrs. Wood's first grade class, at Riverbend Elementary, would like to say "thank you" to First Citizen's Bank and Evergreen Packaging for the grant money they received to purchase new leveled reading books. Bethel Elementary participates in Girls on the Run
Nine girls from Bethel Elementary are participating in Girls on the Run this year. Girls on the Run encourages girls to develop self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through running. Junaluska Fifth Graders enjoy Catapult Day
Fifth Grade Students from Junaluska Elementary School enjoyed Catapult Day at the school last month. Each student in two of the fifth grade classes was responsible for the design and construction of a catapult that could hoist a small object - a piece of candy - through the air as far as possible. With the help of parent volunteers and the fifth grade teachers, Mrs. Allen & Mrs. Massie each student demonstrated their catapult while a team of students helped to measure distances, calculate area, and determine weight of the objects. Riverbend Fourth and Fifth graders host 14th annual Trading Post
The fourth and fifth grades of Riverbend have been studying Native Americans. The fourth grades study the tribes of North Carolina and the fifth grade classes investigate the tribes of the Americas. As a culminating activity, Riverbend held its 14th annual Trading Post. Students in kindergarten through third grade will participate in trading with the fourth and fifth grade students. Fourth and fifth grade students have collected things from nature and created craft items to trade within the school. The purpose of the activity is to demonstrate the way goods were acquired by Native Americans and exchanged between native peoples. ...
